The worst meal I've ever had in Paris and then the creepy waiter tried to get a tip on the card! My wife and I went here back in January as we were staying nearby, flying out the next morning to Guadeloupe and didn't want to travel far for our dinner. It advertises itself as a bistro and seemed a lively place with a traditional menu. I ordered onion soup and confit of duck, two bistro classics that any Paris place should do well. The soup came in the trad "lion's head" bowl but that was as near as it got to tradition. The surface of the soup was covered with a thick dark coloured mat made up of God only knows what. I had to take it out of the bowl and attack it with a knife and fork to break it up. It should have been croutons and Gruyére browned under the grill but it had none of the flavour it should have. It had been reheated probably multiple times in a microwave. Beneath it the onion soup was largely uncooked onions in a clear liquid. It should have been onions browned in butter and in a deep beef stock. Again it was tasteless. My confit was no better: it arrived almost exploded over the plate with most of the meat having dropped off the bones. It was accompanied by black potatoes, no idea how they'd been cooked originally but they'd been microwaved since, and a couple of outer leaves of.a lettuce, very coarse with a little vinaigrette sprinkled on them. The only positive aspect of the meal was that the house red wine was cheap and tasty. Which, I presume, accounted for the large number of young people there in various stages of intoxication. It can't have been the food unless they save the bad stuff for the tourists. And to top it off, the waiter, who been really creepy throughout, congratulating us on our choices etc, hassled us to add a tip on the card payment. All in all a very depressing night out. Avoid this place unless you're a local.
